23-year-old Miss Universe Grand Bahama 2019, Tarea Sturrup, was crowned Miss Bahamas Universe 2019 on Sunday, August 18 at the Atlantis Theater in Paradise Island. She beat 10 other contestants to win the national beauty title.
Tarea is a model and a social media coordinator. She is also an advocate for a worthy cause who wants to use her platform to assist with raising financial resources to aid in research efforts to fight dementia.
The new Miss Bahamas Universe will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant. Date and venue for her international competition are yet to be announced.
Last year’s winner, Danielle Grant, crowned her successor at the end of the glittering competition.
The Bahamas is yet to win its first Miss Universe crown.
