24-year-old model from Bodden Town, Kadejah Bodden, was crowned Miss Cayman Islands Universe 2019 at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman’s ballroom last Saturday, August 17. The runners-up were Mariah Tibbetts and Mahalia Seymour.
Kadejah, who has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and master’s in regenerative medicine from Queen Mary University in London, enjoys yoga and paddleboarding.
The new Miss Cayman Islands beat 5 other finalists to succeed last year’s winner Caitlyn Tyson. She won $70,000 worth of scholarship, 2019 KIA K3 for the duration of her reign and of course, the right to represent her country at Miss Universe 2019.
A British Overseas Territory consisting of 3 islands in the western Caribbean Sea, the Cayman Islands is yet to have its first placement at Miss Universe pageant or go as far as winning the crown.
