Mariah Tibbetts has been officially crowned as Miss Cayman Islands Universe 2020 on Saturday, September 26 at the Grand Old House in South Sound.
The 26-year-old certified public accountant from Bodden Town was announced last July to succeed Kadejah Bodden due to the cancellation of this year’s pageant amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
For her prize, Mariah receives a 2019 Kia Forte and the opportunity to represent her country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant to be held next year.
The star-studded event hosted by the Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee was also attended by her family, friends, and other beauty queens.
In a post on social media, she wrote a thank you message to everyone who showed her support. She said: “It’s been a long road to get to this point, but it doesn’t stop here. I have so many emotions and so many words I would like to say but I really just want to express all of my gratitude. I am so grateful to all of you,” she wrote in a post on social media.”
