27-year-old business administration graduate, Paola Chacón, was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2019 on Friday, July 19 at the Marco Picado studio (Canal 7) in La Sabana, San José. Brenda Muñoz and Mónica Zamora were first and second runners-up, respectively.
Paola received the crown from last year’s Miss Costa Rica and Miss Universe 2018 Top 10 semi-finalist, Natalia Carvajal.
The new Miss Costa Rica triumphed over 8 other contestants to win the 65th edition of the national competition. She will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year.
Costa Rica is yet to win the Miss Universe crown. The country only placed 3 times in the Top 10 and once in the Top 16 since 1954.
