A 27-year-old engineering student representing San Pedro de Atacama, Fernanda Méndez, was crowned Miss Earth Chile 2019 last Saturday, August 10 at the Teatro Municipal in Vicuña.
Fernanda beat 14 other beauties to win the national title and succeed last year’s winner and Miss Earth 2018 Top 12, Antonia Figueroa.
Antonia Pereira, Camila Zambrano, Katherine Castillo, and Mariana Mendoza were crowned Miss Aire Chile, Miss Agua Chile, Miss Fuego Chile and Miss Ecoturismo Chile 2019, respectively.
The new Miss Earth Chile won the title on her second attempt. She first joined in 2016 where she was crowned Miss Aire Chile.
Fernanda will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Earth 2019 pageant in the Philippines this coming October.
Chile has won the Miss Earth crown in 2006 with Hil Hernández.
