26-year-old Tessa le Conge is the newly-appointed Miss Earth Netherlands 2020. It was officially announced by the Miss Earth Netherlands (Miss Beauty of the Netherlands) organization on its Facebook page.
The organization said, “Due to the COVID-19 virus and its effects on the world and many many people, we want to live by the restrictions from our government. For our health and the health of the ones we love.”
They added, “This means we aren’t able to pull off our annual show of Miss Beauty of the Netherlands. Never the less, we’ve decided to crown a new representative for this year’s Miss Earth. A new angel of the earth who wears the colors of our Dutch flag.”
The communication advisor and professional trampoline gymnast will represent the Netherlands in the 20th edition of the Miss Earth pageant whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
Tessa posted on Facebook, “The word is out, unreal! Finally, I can share it! I was chosen to represent the Netherlands in of the world’s biggest pageants: Miss Earth! I am very happy but especially very grateful.”
The new Miss Earth Netherlands was the first runner-up during the Miss Beauty of the Netherlands pageant in 2016. She went on to compete and win the Miss Asia Pacific International 2016 title.
Last year’s titleholder, Nikki Prein, made it to the Top 10 at the Miss Earth 2019 pageant held in the Philippines.
