21-year-old environmental biology student and model, Modupe Susan Garland, was crowned Miss Earth Nigeria 2019 on Saturday, August 3 at the Mega 1 Events Place in Lekki, Lagos. She beat 15 other beauties to win the national competition and the right to represent Nigeria at the Miss Earth 2019 pageant in the Philippines next October.
The runners-up, Namure Ojioze, Gwen Ifeanyieze, and Doris Akueze were crowned Miss Earth Nigeria Air, Water, and Fire, respectively.
Last year’s winner, Miss Earth Nigeria 2018 Maristella Okpala, crowned her successor at the end of the event.
Miss Earth Nigeria pageant, headed by actress, events manager, and former beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima, debuted in 2004.
Nigeria is yet to win Miss Earth. The country placed two times in the Top 16 with Stacey Garvey in 2006 and Uko Ezinne in 2007.
