Kelly Dávila was proclaimed as Miss Earth Peru 2020 in an official announcement on Sunday, September 6 via social media.
The 25-year-old model and experienced beauty queen from Lima will represent Peru at the Miss Earth 2020 virtual competition that will commence later this month and the finale is slated for November.
According to the statement released by pageant director Ernesto (Tito) Paz, Kelly was chosen because of her strong command over cameras, good English skills, and past experiences in pageantry.
“We believe that Kelly will be a great representative of Peru since she has a lot of knowledge necessary to be able to make a magnificent virtual presentation highlighting our culture and ecology.”
The newly-appointed Miss Earth Peru previously competed in Miss Expoworld, Miss Hispanoamerica International, and Miss Continente Americano pageants.
Peru is yet to win the Miss Earth crown and the country’s highest placement was Top 8 in 2007 with Odilia Garcia.
