Stephany Zreik was named Miss Earth Venezuela 2020 in a special television program aired live on Thursday, August 27 over Globovisión and digital platforms.
The announcement was lead by Miss Earth Venezuela Organization president Prince Julio Cesar, with Melissa Rauseo as host and Alejandro Carreño as a social media commentator.
Six outstanding women were considered for the title but in the end, a 24-year-old lawyer and model by profession was announced the new queen.
The new Miss Earth Venezuela represented the state of Miranda and was crowned Miss Earth-Fire during last year’s national pageant. She will be officially crowned in person on Thursday, September 17 and last year’s winner, Michell Castellanos, will have her proper farewell.
Stephany was born in Maracaibo and finished her law degree from the University of Carabobo. For her, being Miss Earth Venezuela attests that with effort, perseverance, faith, and a lot of discipline, the biggest dreams can come true.
“Representing Venezuela to the world is an honor and a great responsibility. I have worked on my preparation, both physically and mentally, because I consider that a queen is much more than beauty. The heart, attitude, and knowledge are fundamental pillars in the essence of a queen,” she said.
“I feel privileged to be able to be a spokesperson for my country in a year as complicated as 2020. I am sure that I will be able to contribute to different causes and that is what fills me the most, being a queen in all her facets; from physical to spiritual beauty, for me, helping is the most valuable thing we can do as human beings.”
Stephany will represent Venezuela at the Miss Earth 2020 virtual edition in November. She will try to win her country’s third Miss Earth crown, a coveted international title held by Alexandra Braun in 2005 and Alyz Henrich in 2013.
