Venezuela’s Valentina Figuera was crowned Miss Grand International 2019 at the Poliedro de Caracas, Venezuela on Friday, October 25. She succeeds last year’s winner from Paraguay, Clara Sosa.
The 19-year-old architecture student and model from Anzoátegui beat over 50 other beauties from around the world to win the 7th edition of the international competition.
Mexico’s María Malo was the first runner-up while Arayha Suparurk of Thailand, Carmen Drayton of Panama and Marjorie Marcelle of Brazil were the second, third and fourth runner-up, respectively.
The representatives from Ecuador (Mara Topić), Puerto Rico (Hazel Ortíz), Peru (Camila Escribens), Australia (Taylor Curry) and Vietnam (Nguyen Ha Kieu Loan) completed the Top 10 finalists. Vietnam fast-tracked to the finals after winning Miss Popular Vote.
South Africa, Guatemala, Spain, Czech Republic, Costa Rica, Japan, Paraguay, Colombia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ireland were the rest of the Top 20 semi-finalists.
Valentina receives a $40,000 prize, brand new George Wittels’ crown and an apartment in Bangkok for the entire duration of her reign. She will travel the world to promote the peace-driven cause of Miss Grand International which is to stop war and violence.
