The controversial 26-year-old Samantha Lo, a representative of the Philippines at the ongoing Miss Grand International 2019 in Caracas, Venezuela, has finally made it to the international competition. Better late than never, right?
Samantha left the Philippines for Venezuela on October 9 but her whereabouts went unknown to the public since then. There were several speculations online about what happened to her, and though BPCI did not provide any comments, she finally took to social media on Sunday, October 20.
In a lengthy post on Instagram, Samantha cleared that she missed her flight to the host country due to a transit visa-related issue. She first chose to remain silent and speak up only when she arrived in Caracas.
“I know people have been waiting to hear from me but this past week has been such a rollercoaster of stress and uncertainty that I felt it was unnecessary to involve the public,” she said.
The Filipina beauty queen also expressed her gratitude to the Miss Grand International organization for still allowing her to compete despite missing several pre-pageant events.
Miss Grand International 2019 grand coronation night will be held on Friday, October 25 at the Poliedro de Caracas. The reigning queen, Clara Sosa of Paraguay, will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Around 60 beauties from around the world will compete in the 7th edition of the Thailand-based international pageant.
