Miss Grand Distrito Capital, Eliana Roa, has been officially announced as Miss Grand Venezuela 2020 on Wednesday, December 30.
The 24-year-old business economics student who was born in Tachira became the successor of Valentina Figuera, the reigning Miss Grand International.
“I am very happy and excited. As all the women who have represented the country I am going to continue fighting and working to fulfill their expectations, who I am today is not the same as it will be in the contest,” she wrote on social media.
Eliana will represent her country in the next edition of Miss Grand International whose date and venue are yet to be announced. She is the 8th woman from Venezuela to compete in the pageant.
Last year, Venezuela hosted the Thailand-based competition where its host representative emerged as the winner.
Miss Grand Venezuela is currently chaired by renowned jewelry designer George Wittels. He crafted crowns for several national and international pageants.
