Kenza Andreze-Louison was crowned Miss Guadeloupe 2020 in a competition held at the Arawak Beach Resort on Friday, August 21. Océane Lovinsky and Stessy Thétis were in second and third places, respectively.
The 20-year-old beauty from Baie Mahault succeeds last year’s winner, Clémence Botino, who is currently the reigning Miss France.
Due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the regional pageant for Miss France allowed only six finalists to compete this year.
Prior to the final competition, Anaëlle Guimbi, one of the finalists sparked controversy when she was disqualified at the last minute due to her topless photos for a breast cancer awareness campaign.
Regardless of the cause behind the photos, organizers said the rules clearly stipulate that candidates must not have done nude photos of any kind.
The new Miss Guadeloupe will represent her French overseas region at Miss France 2021 national competition in December.
