Miss Chihuahua, 20-year-old Ashley Alvidrez, was crowned Miss Mexico 2019 in a national competition held on Friday, September 20 in Mexico City. She succeeds last year’s winner and Mexico’s first-ever Miss World, Vanessa Ponce de Leon.
The runners-up were Miss Veracruz, Marilu Acevedo, and Miss Chiapas, Wendy Chavez. Miss Colima, Vanessa Hernández and Miss Hidalgo, Jessica Huerta completed the Top 5 finalists.
Ashley beat more than 30 other beauties to win the coveted national title. She will now prepare to pull off a back-to-back win for her country at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London, England in December.
