Miss Mexico Organization has announced that its 2020 competition has been postponed due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Due to the changing situation of the health crisis that prevails in the state of Chihuahua and in many other entities in the country, the organization has joined the decision of the government in health matters,” says the official statement.
Miss Mexico 2020 was originally scheduled to be held last Saturday, October 31. The next edition of the national pageant was instead rescheduled to take place from March 1 to 13 of next year.
“We are sure that this recess time will allow us to rethink the celebration of our contest with more vigor and of course, it ensures that we provide an unforgettable and safe experience for everyone.”
Last year’s winner, Ashley Alvídrez, will continue with her reign until she passes her crown on to her successor who will represent the country at the 70th Miss World pageant.
