23-year-old Adele Sammartino from Pompei was crowned Miss Mondo Italia 2019 on Saturday, June 15 in a pageant held at the Teatro Italia in Gallipoli. The runners-up were Katia Riparelli and Lorenza Di Cesare.
The 175 cm tall beauty bested 49 other contestants to win the national title and will now prepare to represent Italy at the Miss World 2019 pageant later this year. She wants to dedicate her victory to her parents who motivated her to face the challenge of the national competition.
Just graduated in psychological sciences at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, Adele’s ultimate dream is to become a criminologist or a specialist in clinical psychology.
Italy is yet to win the Miss World crown but the country’s highest placement was in the year 2000 when Giorgia Palmas finished as first runner-up to India’s Priyanka Chopra.
