Miss Espírito Santo, Elis Miele, was crowned Miss Mundo Brasil 2019 on Tuesday, September 3 at the Dall´Onder Grande Hotel in Bento Gonçalves. She succeeds last year’s winner, Jéssica Carvalho.
The 20-year-old technical nursing graduate and model beat 41 other contestants to win the national competition. She will now prepare to represent Brazil at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London, England in December.
Miss Caminho dos Princes Fernanda Souza, who came in second place, will be the country’s representative at the Miss Supranational 2019 pageant in Poland.
Jessica Lily (Rio Grande do Sul), Elizama Aguilar (Santa Catarina), and Iully Thaisa (Fernando de Noronha) completed the Top 5 finalists.
Brazil has won the Miss World crown once with Lúcia Petterle in 1971.
