Andrea Montero was crowned Señorita Costa Rica 2020 during the Concurso Nacional de Belleza (CNB Costa Rica) final competition held on Thursday, October 15. She edged out six other finalists to succeed last year’s winner, Jéssica Jiménez.
The 19-year-old beauty is a student of business administration and English teaching at the University of Costa Rica. Prior to winning her national title, she was named Miss Mundo Limón 2020 earlier this year.
Camila Tobón was proclaimed Virreina Nacional while Montserrat Blanco completed the Top 3. Adriana Elizondo Bermúdez, Diana Cerdas, Sue Bermúdez and Yoylyn Jiménez were the rest of the Top 7 finalists.
Andrea will represent Costa Rica at the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held in the last quarter of next year.
The national pageant which was aired live on Multimedios channel 8 was originally scheduled to be held last July but had to be postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
