Valeria Vázquez, representing Puerto Rico, won Miss Supranational 2018 on December 7 at the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center (MOSIR), Krynica-Zdrój, in Poland. She bested 71 other contestants to win the 10th edition of the pageant.
The runners-up were the contestants from the United States, Poland, Indonesia and Mexico. Completing the top semi-finalists were from Brazil, Philippines, Romania, Venezuela and Vietnam.
Miss Supranational was born in 2009, with its first edition held in the city of Płock, in Poland. The winners work for charitable causes as well as travelling the world promoting tourism, goodwill among all nations and a healthy image.
It’s the first time for Puerto Rico to have won the competition. Valeria is 24 years old, a model and a medical technology student at the University of Puerto Rico. She was crowned by last year’s winner Jenny Kim of South Korea.
