The Top 10 official finalists vying for the title of Miss South Africa 2020 have been announced on Wednesday, August 5.
Each finalist had a sit-down interview with former Miss South Africa, Liesl Laurie, who hosted the announcement through the pageant’s official streaming platform.
Miss South Africa CEO, Stephanie Weil, said the finalists “represent everything Miss South Africa stands for” and the “judges are going to have the extremely difficult task of choosing” the next winner.
The final competition will take place on October 24 and for the first time, the Top 3 finalists will compete in the next edition of Miss Universe, Miss World, and the recently-added franchise, Miss Supranational.
Here are the Top 10 finalists:
Aphelele Mbiyo – 24, born in Mthatha, lives in Johannesburg, holds a BA in Integrated Marketing Communications.
Busisiwe Mmotla – 27, from Soweto, studying towards a Diploma in Personal Training at Trifocus Fitness Academy, aspires to be a wellness coach.
Chantelle Pretorius – 24, from Tshwane, works as a model, owns a nutrition degree, and currently studies business management.
Jordan Van Der Vyver – 24, from Greenpoint, Cape Town, full-time model.
Karishma Ramdev – 25, from Chatsworth KZN, but now lives in Johannesburg, a medical doctor working at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital.
Lebogang Mahlangu – 24, from Soshanguve, Gauteng, research scientist, specializing in food development.
Melissa Nayimuli – 24, from Sunninghill, Johannesburg, an account manager for a marketing agency.
Natasha Joubert – 22, Centurion, public relations officer at RFJ Inc.
Shudufhadzo Musida – 23, from Ha-Mssia, Limpopo, studying for a BA Honours in International Relations at the University of Witwatersrand.
Thato Mosehle – 25, from Klerksdorp, North West, a medical doctor, and aspiring anesthesiologist.
