Hillary-Ann Williams was officially announced as Miss Universe Barbados 2020 on “The making of a Queen” telecast last Saturday, November 14.
The 25-year-old entrepreneur who owns her own digital marketing agency was a runner-up and People’s Choice awardee during last year’s Miss Universe Barbados pageant won by Shanel Ifill.
“After lengthy consultations with the Miss Universe Organization, and in compliance with COVID-19 best practices, it was decided that Crown Events would be allowed to select a delegate from its eligible pool, to represent Barbados on the international stage,” the organizers said in a press release.
Hillary will represent her eastern Caribbean island country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
The new Miss Universe Barbados believes everything happens for a reason in its own timing. In a post on social media she said, “When you let go of what’s not meant for you, the universe has an amazing way of showing you what was waiting for you the whole time.”
“It’s such an honor to represent my country and I can’t wait to make each and every single one of you proud.”
