Sicily’s Viviana Vizzini was crowned Miss Universe Italy 2020 in a competition that aired from Rome on Monday, December 21.
The 27-year-old model and social media influencer who hails from Caltanissetta edged out 35 other candidates to win the pageant. She succeeds last year’s winner, Sofia Marilú Trimarco.
This year’s national competition, presented by Vladimir Luxuria and Simone Di Pasquale, took place amid the COVID-19 pandemic with no audience and with total safety protocol compliance.
The new Miss Universe Italy will now have the opportunity to represent her country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant, whose date and venue are yet to be announced.
