A 23-year-old beauty from Sliema, Teresa Ruglio, was crowned Miss Universe Malta 2019 on Friday, July 12 at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre in Portomaso, St. Julian’s. The runners-up were Nicolà Grixti and Nicole Mallia.
Teresa edged out 24 other contestants to succeed last year’s winner, Francesca Mifsud. She will now prepare to represent Malta at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year.
Now on its fourth edition, Miss Universe Malta was hosted by popular television personality Ben Camille and aired live on TVM and Facebook. The pageant is organized by Glow Promotions under the directorship of Alan J. Darmanin and Jeff Francalanza.
Malta is yet to win the Miss Universe crown. The country first joined the pageant in 1968 with Kathlene Farrugia as its representative.
