Anshika Sharma took home the title of Miss Universe Nepal 2020 in a competition that aired on Wednesday, December 30 from Kathmandu.
The 24-year-old beauty bested 17 other finalists to win the national title. She was crowned by the new Miss Universe Nepal national director and former beauty queen, Nagma Shrestha.
Nina Kant Mandal, Sujita Basnet, Dikta Thapa, and Nancy Khadka completed the Top 5 finalists while Parichhya Bista, Priya Sigdel, Roshani Khatri, Arika Tanabhat, and Paramita Rana were the rest of the Top 10.
The new Miss Universe Nepal succeeds last year’s titleholder from another organization, Pradeepta Adhikari. She will represent her country at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in the first quarter of 2021 possibly in the USA.
“I am walking the path of becoming Miss Universe to give more structure to my goal of uplifting children through education,” she said.
Nepal debuted at the Miss Universe pageant in 2017 with Nagma Shrestha as its first delegate. The country’s highest placement was Top 10 in 2018 courtesy of Manita Devkota.
