Miss Toa Baja, Madison Anderson, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019 in a competition held at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan on Thursday, June 13.
The 24-year-old bested 27 other contestants to win the national title and will now prepare to represent Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year.
Miss San Sebastian, Stephanie Soto, and Miss Camuy, Fabiola Valentin, were the runners-up.
Miss Carolina, Tanya Romero, Miss Cayey, Verónica Montano, and Miss Dorado, Rebeca Valentín, completed the Top 6 finalists.
Madison previously competed in Miss Grand International 2016 in Las Vegas where she placed as third runner-up.
Last year’s winner and Miss Universe 2018 Top 5 finalist, Kiara Ortega, crowned her successor at the end of the glittering event.
Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization is now headed by former Miss Universe, Denise Quiñones (Miss Universe 2001).
