Miss Toa Baja, 24-year-old Madison Anderson, was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019 in a competition held at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan on Thursday, June 13. She bested 27 other contestants to win the national title and will now prepare to represent Puerto Rico at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year.
The runners-up were Miss San Sebastian, Stephanie Soto and Miss Camuy, Fabiola Valentin. Tanya Romero (Miss Carolina), Verónica Montano (Miss Cayey) and Rebeca Valentín (Miss Dorado) completed the Top 6 finalists.
Madison previously competed in Miss Grand International 2016 in Las Vegas where she placed as 3rd runner-up.
Last year’s winner, Kiara Ortega (Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2018 and Miss Universe 2018 Top 5 finalist) crowned her successor at the end of the glittering event.
Miss Universe Puerto Rico organization is headed by former Miss Universe Denise Quiñones (Miss Universe 2001).
