24-year-old Mohana Prabha edged out 9 other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Singapore 2019 in a national competition at Zouk on Thursday, October 17. She succeeds last year titleholder, Zahra Khanum.
Mohana is a model and a Biomed student. The Indian-origin beauty who personally advocates helping end racial discrimination, will represent Singapore at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant.
Also crowned in the same event were Global Asian Model Singapore 2019 Annika Xue Sager and Miss Charm Singapore 2019 Bernadette Belle Ong. They will compete in Miss Charm International and Global Asian Model competitions, respectively.
The runners-up were Cheryl Yao and Laranya Kumar while Lia Tan, Lynette Chua, Mia Chow, Nerrine Ng, and Valencia Quah completed the Top 10 finalists.
Former Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines, was a special guest in the competition.
Miss Universe Singapore pageant is currently headed by former titleholder Valerie Lim with Jonas Gaffud from the Philippines as a creative director.
Singapore is yet to win its first Miss Universe crown.
