25-year-old Thai-Canadian model, Paweensuda Drouin, was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2019 on Saturday night, June 29 at the Thunder Dome, in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province.
Miriam Sornprommas and Thanatchaphon Boonsang were first and second runners-up, respectively, while Patraporn Wang and Kim Docekalova completed the Top 5 finalists.
57 beauties from across Thailand competed for the most coveted beauty title in the country and in one of the strongest editions of the national pageant.
Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray of the Philippines, was invited to sit as one of the judges in the competition and to hand over the crown to the winner.
It was the first edition of Miss Universe Thailand under new management, the TPN 2018 Co., Ltd. by Somchai Cheewasutthanon, Piyaporn Sankosik and Narong Lertkitsiri. The organization was previously chaired for 19 years by Surang Prampree.
The newly crowned Thai beauty has always been a crowd favorite since her stint at the Miss Earth 2017 pageant in the Philippines where she placed in the Top 8. She was second runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2017 before being appointed as Miss Earth Thailand.
Paweensuda or Fahsai (Thai nickname) will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year where she is expected to finally take home the elusive international title back home after 31 years.
