It was the first edition of Miss Universe Thailand under new management, the TPN 2018 Co., Ltd. by Somchai Cheewasutthanon, Piyaporn Sankosik, and Narong Lertkitsiri. The organization was previously chaired for 19 years by Surang Prampree.

The newly-crowned Thai-Canadian beauty has always been a crowd favorite since her stint at the Miss Earth 2017 pageant in the Philippines where she placed in the Top 8. She was second runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2017 before being appointed as Miss Earth Thailand.

Fahsai will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant later this year where she is expected to finally take home the elusive international title back home after 31 years.
