Chavika Watrsang, one of the Top 30 finalists of the Miss Universe Thailand 2020, could no longer participate in the competition due to a fractured ankle from an accident.
The 24-year-old beauty from Phuket was emotional in a wheelchair during the sashing ceremony held today at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok.
TPN executives and co-finalists cheered her up while she receives a sash with her name as a souvenir for her short-lived moment at this year’s competition.
It would have been her second time to join the pageant. In 2015, she was proclaimed as the first runner-up and obtained the title of Miss Earth Thailand that gave her the opportunity to represent her country at Miss Earth 2015 in Vienna, Austria.
Chavika will for now focus on her recovery and hopefully, come back stronger next year. The dream can’t be over yet and as they say, “live to slay another day.”
