Do Thi Ha was crowned Miss Vietnam 2020 in a glittering national competition held on Friday, November 20 at the Phu Tho Stadium in District 11, Ho Chi Minh City.
The 19-year-old university student from the north-central province of Thanh Hoa edged out 34 other contestants to win the coveted national title. She will represent Vietnam at the 70th Miss World pageant to be held in the last quarter of 2021.
Pham Ngoc Phuong Anh and Nguyen Le Ngoc Thao were the first and second runners-up, respectively, and they are expected to be sent to the Miss International and Miss Grand International pageants.
Huynh Nguyen Minh Phuong and Pham Thi Phuong Quynh completed the Top 5 finalists.
Miss Vietnam 2020 wears the luxury crown designed by Long Beach Pearl. Weighing 72 grams, the crown is handcrafted with 21 yellow pearls, 53 white pearls, and nearly 2,000 white and yellow gemstones.
This year’s contestants have been taking part in a series of events to raise funds to support flood victims in the central region and raised over VND12 billion (US$ 500,000).
