Miss South Dakota, Emmy Rose Cuvelier, was crowned Miss World America 2019 in a national competition held last Saturday, October 12 at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 23-year-old performer, business owner and child advocate from Pierre beat over 40 other contestants to succeed last year’s winner Marisa Butler.
Megan Gordon (South Carolina), Peyton Brown (North Carolina), Rachel Miller (Massachusetts) and Kayli Obrero (Hawaii) were the first, second, third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Emmy will represent the United States of America at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London, England in December.
Reigning Miss World from Mexico, Vanessa Ponce de Leon and Mr World from England, Jack Heslewood, graced the glittering beauty event.
The United States holds a record of 49 placements at Miss World pageant and boasts 3 winners with Marjorie Wallace (Miss World 1973), Gina Tolleson (Miss World 1990), Alexandria Mills (Miss World 2010).
