25-year-old model and actress, Alysha Morency, was crowned Miss World Haiti 2019 on Saturday, August 3 at Le Villate in Petion-Ville, Port-au-Prince. She beat 7 other finalists to win the national competition and succeed last year’s titleholder Stephie Morency.
Alysha, who is also a publicist and fashion designer, previously held the title Miss Kriss Bikini 2015. She will now prepare to represent her country at the Miss World 2019 pageant in London, England next December.
Haiti is yet to win the Miss World crown. The country’s highest placement was 5th Runner-up in 1975 with Joelle Apollon. Since then, no representative was sent to the international pageant until 2013.
