26-year-old actor and TV personality from Hyderabad won Mr World 2016 competition held at the Floral Hall of the Southport Convention Centre in Southport, England on July 19.
It was the first time for India and for Asia to win the title since Mr World was founded in 1996 by the Miss World Organization. Since then, Mr World is being held every two years. 46 countries joined this year’s competition.
Rohit succeeded Mr World 2014 Nicklas Pedersen from Denmark. Prior to winning the coveted international title, he won Mr India 2015 competition in Mumbai and of course, the right to represent his country in England.
The runners-up were Puerto Rico, Fernando Álvarez and Mexico, Aldo Esparza. England’s Christopher Bramell and Kenya’s Kevin Owiti.
