Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel debuted her first official magazine cover as she has just landed on Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam.
The Puerto Rican beauty queen whose advocacy is heavily based on the family may have been limited from doing so much in her reign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she will definitely be remembered as the first-ever woman from her country and the Caribbean to win the Miss Earth title.
“Family is the base of society, and a society composed by families that love, respect, and value each other is the one that will also do the same and make efforts in creating a stable and safe environment, in every aspect,” says her bio on the Miss Earth website.
In the past few months, she has been using her online platform to advocate and voice her opinions on relevant social issues and causes. For her mission in protecting our planet, she said: “Sustainability is about the ability that we, as present caregivers and creators, have to take care of our needs with the resources given to us without compromising the future generationsʼ ability to satisfy their own.”
Nellys is due to relinquish her reign to the next eco angel this November during the virtual staging of the Miss Earth 2020 pageant.
