Paula Shugart finally addressed the rumor that Endeavor, formerly known as William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME or WME-IMG), is no longer the owner of the Miss Universe Organization.
The MUO president commented on social media: “No, Endeavor still owns Miss Universe organization. I believe a rumor was started by a former hairstylist. Not sure why.”
CHI hairstylist Vicente Leonel Rodriguez Almeida was being pointed to have sparked the rumors when he said, “Miss Universe is not owned by IMG anymore so the rules could change.”
The pageantry world was shaken up by the statement and the common question that arose from the netizens was who could be the new owner. Among the rumored buyers were the Kardashians, Telemundo, LCS Group, and even former president Trump who sold the organization in 2015.
As it is now confirmed, Miss Universe stays with Endeavor, while Miss USA and Miss Teen USA were reported to have been let go and former Miss USA, Crystle Stewart took the responsibility as franchise director for both national pageants.
