“Camino al Miss Venezuela 2020” (Road to Miss Venezuela 2020) has officially kicked off on Friday, June 26 in Caracas.
The morning television show “Portada’s” showcased this year’s 22 contestants being assigned to represent the different states of Venezuela.
States allocation was first based on the birthplace of each contestant, then by their own decision according to their preferences or family ties with certain states, and finally by drawing.
The states of Bolívar, Amazonas, and Delta Amacuro are now being represented as Guayana Region.
Miss Venezuela 2020 finals will be held on Thursday, September 24 where the winners will succeed Thalía Olvino and Melissa Jiménez as representatives of Venezuela in the next Miss Universe and Miss International pageants.
“La noche más linda del año” (The most beautiful night of the year) will take place with strict compliance to the general prevention measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), as well as the labor regulations enforced in the country.
Prior to the finals, the same contestants will compete for the title Miss World Venezuela 2020 in a separate event where Isabella Rodríguez will crown her successor. This is to comply with the requirements of the Miss World Organization.
