California's Athenna Crosby crowned Miss World America 2024

Athenna Crosby of California bested over 40 other contestants to win the Miss World America 2024 pageant on Sunday, November 17 in Seattle, Washington. The 26-year-old American-Venezuelan model and actress succeeds last year's winner Victoria DiSorbo and will now prepare to represent the United States of America at the 72nd Miss World. Kimberly Nwankolo of Oregon was named first runner-up while Anne Li of the District of Columbia, Aishwarya Kumar of Central Washington, and Heather Alexia Santos of Washington were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. The new Miss World America is a devoted advocate for people with disabilities. Aside from modeling and acting, she is also a journalist, singer, and a TV presenter. Mayra Delgado was crowned Miss Mundo Dominicana 2024 in a national competition held on Saturday, November 9 at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center in Punta Cana. The 23-year-old beauty representing Distrito Nacional bested 15 other contestants to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Maria Victoria Bayo Martinez and will represent the Dominican Republic at the 72nd Miss World. Zoalize Jansen Van Rensburg was crowned Miss World South Africa 2024 in a national competition held last October 6 at the Sun City Superbowl, North West Province. The 18-year-old youth empowerment advocate from Pretoria succeeds last year's winner Claude Mashego. She will represent South Africa at the 72nd Miss World competition next year. Amy Scott edged out nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Scotland 2024 (Miss World Scotland) on Saturday, August 24 at The Corinthian Club in Glasgow. The 24-year-old MS advocate from Strathaven will represent Scotland at the 72nd Miss World. She succeeds last year's winner, Miss Scotland 2023 Chelsie Allison. Maryely Leal was crowned Miss Mexico 2024 (Miss World Mexico) during the national competition held on Saturday, August 3 at the Teatro Metropólitan in Mexico City. The 27-year-old international studies graduate from Sinaloa bested 30 other contestants to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Alejandra Díaz of San Luis Potosí. Mame Fama Gaye was crowned Miss Senegal 2024 (Miss World Senegal 2024) during the national competition held last Friday, July 12 at the Grand Theatre National De Dakar. The 24-year-old model from Fatick will represent at the 72nd Miss World next year. She succeeds Fatou L'eau, Senegal's representative during the 71st Miss World in Mumbai, India last March. Fatou Guèye, 23, from Louga, was named first runner-up and will head to Mexico for Miss Universe 2024 this November. She will be the first Miss Universe Senegal in over three decades. Senegal, a country in West Africa, debuted at Miss Universe 1974 and its last participation was during Miss Universe 1987. The final of the Miss World Philippines 2024 Head to Head Challenge took place on Monday, July 8 at the Southville International School and Colleges in Las Piñas City. Eight semifinalists showcased their speaking and presentation skills, along with their intelligence and quick thinking during the fast-track event. The challenge culminated with the announcement of the Top 3 finalists. They are Dolly Ceballos Cruz of Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Jasmine Urquico Omay of Tarlac Province, and Patricia Bianca Tapia of Batangas. Rounding out the Top 8 were Riana Pangindian of Kapitolyo, Pasig, Gabrielle Lantzer of Manila, Marianel Tan of Bacolod, Krishna Gravidez of Baguio City, and Christine Chagas of Quezon City.
