71st Miss Universe touches down in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel and her second runner-up Andreína Martínez Founier touched down at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Thursday, February 23. They received a heartwarming welcome from Vietnamese fans who eagerly waited for their arrival at the airport to see them in person, take photos, or ask for autographs. "What a welcome! How exciting it is to see my beautiful flag all the way on the side of the world. So grateful to be an ambassador for my country, thank you to all the fans who came to the airport to welcome us," said Andreína. Vietnam is ready to welcome 40 of the world's most charming women to compete in the inaugural Miss Charm 2023 international pageant. The Southeast Asian country, considered a "destination of the new millennium" is best known worldwide for attractive tourist destinations, breathtaking nature sceneries, flavorful cuisine, and colorful culture. Contestants will begin arriving in the host country on February 3 and kick off pre-pageant events and activities that lead up to the grand final show on February 16 in Ho Chi Minh City. Their hectic schedules include the sashing ceremony, filming and shooting, touring the city, rehearsals, and the preliminary competition, among others. Miss Charm 2023, the inaugural edition of the Vietnam-based international beauty pageant will finally be held this February in Ho Chi Minh City following a 2-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the mission of promoting culture, tourism, and educational activities, the host city will be welcoming 40 participants from different countries around the world. The contestants were selected among the top-ranking beauty queens, especially handpicked in collaboration with the organizing committee from each participating country. According to the organizers, choosing the winner who will take home a whooping cash prize of 100,000 US dollars will be based on several judging criteria including beauty, physique, intellect, and audience appeal.
