The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has officially released a response to a recent controversial documentary that aired on Hulu. According to MUO, IMPACT x Nightline's documentary "Cracks in the Crown: Miss Universe in Crisis" is "disseminating false claims with the intention of smearing" the organization. "It falsely targets not only our organization but also our executives and members, who are individuals of recognized honorability, living the values of our organization daily." Amy Emmerich, the current CEO of the Miss Universe Organization, has decided to step down from her role effective March 1. However, she will continue to contribute her expertise to MUO in an advisory capacity for the next few months. According to a press release on Tuesday, January 23, this strategic investment for growth will build the brand’s international profile and allow for new product and marketing opportunities, in the global market. Longtime pageant fan Raul Rocha Cantú, Legacy Holding's board president and CEO, joins JKN Global’s founder and CEO Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip as co-owner of the merged, privately-held company JKN Legacy. After 23 years, Paula Shugart officially announced her resignation as the president of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) during the Miss Universe 2023 national costume show on Thursday, November 16 in El Salvador. "I've decided that this Saturday will be my last show, and to be clear this decision has been months in the making and is not in response to recent events," she said during her speech. The Miss Universe Organization announced on Tuesday, October 24 that American singer-songwriter John Legend will be performing at Miss Universe 2023 final show. To recall, he was also invited as a musical guest performer for the Miss Universe 2010 competition at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. John is an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) recipient, songwriter, producer, and activist. He has four children with his wife, American model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has just released an official statement regarding the "Miss Universe Coin" which was introduced at Philippine Blockchain Week. According to MUO and its owner JKN Global Group, they are not associated or involved in any way and will be pursuing all legal options with regards to this infringement. The statement reads, "There is currently no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products are in no way involved with the voting or selection process for MISS UNIVERSE or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants." "To our fans — please use caution and do not join in this falsely-named coin scam. We are doing everything we can to shut this down publicly so that our community is not victims of this fraud."

According to the official announcement, "Each delegate will be invited to submit a video entry speaking about a cause important to them, and three winners will be selected to receive $12,000 each for a cause of their choice!" In an Instagram story, MUO posted on Tuesday, "This change will apply for all 2024 pageants globally." Every adult woman in the world will now have the opportunity to become the next Miss Universe. This significant move towards a more inclusive pageant system came after allowing transgenders, mothers, and married women to compete. This is amid allegations of sexual harassment from several contestants of the recently concluded Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 competition. Unfortunately, this also resulted in the cancellation of this year's Miss Universe Malaysia pageant whose license was granted to the same company. The Miss Universe Indonesia Organization has issued a statement in response to allegations of sexual harassment following the recently held Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 competition. "In response to media coverage about the incidents at the Miss Universe Indonesia pageant, we at Miss Universe Indonesia are closely monitoring the situation," said the national director and owner Poppy Capella. "We are actively investigating the allegations that have been reported in the mass media. We will conduct a [thorough] investigation and review the allegations made against us." According to Reuters , several contestants have filed a police report against the organizers after they allegedly underwent a physical examination in their underwear and were photographed "topless" in a room with more than 20 people.
