The 21-year-old activist and journalist beat over 70 other contestants to win the international pageant. She made history as the first Australian woman to become Miss Earth. After weeks of pre-pageant activities and events, the 24th edition of the annual Miss Earth pageant will culminate tonight at Okada Manila in the Philippines. Drita Ziri from Albania and her elemental court are set to crown their successors among 76 contestants from around the planet at tonight's final competition. According to the organizers, this year's theme is "Heritage" and the pageant will not only showcase the breathtaking eco-tourism destinations and rich heritage of the Philippines but also feature the heritage of participating countries from around the world.
