Macarena Tomas has been preparing to represent Paraguay at Miss Earth 2022 this November in the Philippines but unfortunately was disqualified due to the age limit. The 29-year-old international aero yoga (aerial yoga) instructor who was named Miss Tierra Paraguay during the Reinas del Paraguay national competition in August, failed the Miss Earth organization's age limit requirement which is 18-28 years of age (until December 2022). There is no confirmation yet whether a new representative will be selected to be sent to this year's Miss Earth edition or too late for it, but as of this writing, Paraguay has been removed from the list of delegates on the pageant's official website. Reinas del Paraguay "Noche de Reinas" was held on Friday, August 26 at Paseo La Galería in Asunción where four winners took home the coveted titles. Last year's titleholder Nadia Ferreira crowned her successor Leah Ashmore as Miss Universo Paraguay 2022 at the end of the event. The Miss Universe 2021 first runner-up was accompanied by her fiancé Marc Anthony in the audience during the show. Hosted by Toto González and Luchi García Rubín, the glittering final aired on Trece (channel 13) featured 14 contestants competing in their swimsuits and evening gowns. Former queens Vivian Benítez (Miss Paraguay 1991) and Yanina González (Miss Universo Paraguay 2004, Miss Universe 2004 3rd runner-up, Miss Earth - Fire 2004) were part of the judging panel.
