Somalia, a country in the Horn of Africa, is set to debut at the Miss Earth pageant with the newly appointed Miss Earth Somalia 2022 Hibaq Ahmed. The 26-year-old fashion model, support worker and English teacher will travel to Manila, the Philippines for the Miss Earth 2022 world final this November. Not new to pageantry, Hibaq was previously named Miss Elite World Somalia and went to participate at the Miss Elite World pageant several months ago in Soma Bay, Egypt. For her advocacy, Miss Earth Somalia wants to raise awareness for SDG 2 (Sustainable Development Goal - Zero hunger) in Somalia, and how climate disaster - drought - has become the country’s new normal since it has left nearly 50% of the people hungry. Česká Miss pageant has been revolutionized from an ordinary beauty pageant into a reality TV show with the premiere episode of "Hledá se Miss" already aired on Saturday, October 15 on Prima Show . A total of eight episodes will highlight the casting rounds, challenges, and the journey of aspirants leading up to the final. The new format aims to find new faces, both for the world of modeling and influencing. Out of thousands of applicants, only 12 finalists will advance to the grand final and only one winner will emerge at the culmination of this year's Česká Miss Essens. Appointed Miss Earth Laos 2022 Tato Jitana Khidaphone was officially crowned in a special ceremony held on Wednesday, October 12 at the Laotel Hotel & Resort in Vientiane. The 23-year-old model and environmental science graduate currently pursuing her master's degree at the National University of Laos will travel to the Philippines for Miss Earth 2022 final this November. Miss São Paulo, Jessica Pedroso, bested 26 other contestants to be crowned Miss Brasil Terra 2022 (Miss Brazil Earth) on Wednesday, October 12 at the Sheraton São Paulo WTC Hotel. The 23-year-old fashion model and bilingual teacher succeeds last year's titleholder Cássia Adriane Araújo and will now represent Brazil at the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines come November. The 21-year-old beauty from Ptuj beat 11 other competitors to win the national title. The 24-year-old public relations law student was named first runner-up during the Miss Cabo Verde International pageant held on September 3 in Praia. Valerie Clairisse Solís Valderrama has been officially announced as Miss Earth Panama 2022 on Wednesday, October 5 at Envy Club Panama in Panama City. The 18-year-old model, gymnast and ambassador of Panama Academica will represent her country at the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines this November. No stranger to pageantry, Valeria held the titles Miss Teenager Panama and Miss Teenager Universe 2020. Last year's Miss Earth Panama, Jillyan Chue relinquished her crown during the special coronation ceremony held by Panameña Universal Organization. Panama has yet to win the Miss Earth title.
