Puerto Rico's Ashley Melendez was crowned Miss Global 2023 during the 10th Miss Global competition held on Thursday, January 18 at the Corona Resort & Casino Phu Quoc in Vietnam. The 26-year-old model bested more than 60 other contestants to win the international title. She succeeds Miss Global 2022 winner Shane Tormes of the Philippines. Haylani Kuruppu of Samoa was named first runner-up while Chonnikarn Supittayaporn of Thailand, Pearl Hung of the Philippines, and Doan Thu Thuy of Vietnam were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Miss Chiang Mai, Chonnikarn Supittayaporn, was crowned Miss Thailand 2023 on Sunday, March 19 at the Central Chaengwattana in Nonthaburi, Bangkok. The 24-year-old model and pharmacy graduate of Chiang Mai University succeeded last year's winner Manita Farmer and will now prepare to represent Thailand at Miss Global 2023 this November in Vietnam. Česká Miss pageant has been revolutionized from an ordinary beauty pageant into a reality TV show with the premiere episode of "Hledá se Miss" already aired on Saturday, October 15 on Prima Show . Miss Philippines, Shane Tormes, was crowned Miss Global 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia on Saturday, June 11. The 30-year-old host, singer, and advocate became the first Filipina to win the international title. She succeeds Karolína Kokešová of the Czech Republic.
