Miss Universe Guyana 2024 is Ariana Blaize

Miss Georgetown, Ariana Blaize, was crowned Miss Universe Guyana 2024 during the national final held on Friday, July 26 at Guyana Marriot Hotel in Georgetown. The 26-year-old Guyanese-American bested 10 other contestants to win the national title. She succeeds last year's winner Lisa Narine and will now represent Guyana at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. Former Miss Earth Guyana representing Berbice, Faydeha King, was named first runner-up. Miss Uitvlugt, Guyanese-Filipino Farah Sattaur, was the second runner-up. Misha Caleb of Nabaclis, Shyla Murray of Bartica, and Katifa Lester of Demerara Mahaica rounded out the Top 6 finalists. No stranger to pageantry, the new Miss Universe Guyana is a former contestant at Miss Georgia USA where she placed third runner-up in 2023 and Top 16 in 20024. Lisa Narine edged out seven other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Guyana 2023 on Saturday, September 2 at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. The 26-year-old creative coordinator, radio host, entrepreneur, and advocate representing the Pomeroon-Supenaam region will now prepare to represent Guyana at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. Lieve Blanckaert of Georgetown and Chandini Baljor of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara were named the first and second runners-up, respectively, while Colline Ward of Bartica and Melissa McLean of La Parfaite Harmonie rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Eight finalists have been officially announced to compete for the title of Miss Universe Guyana 2023. An official sashing ceremony will take place this Friday, September 1 while the national final and coronation will be on Saturday, September 2 at Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. This year's competition will be the first edition under the US-based and award-winning pageant director Teri Brown-Walker. The will winner will represent Guyana at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador this November. Guyana returns to Miss Universe pageant after 5-year hiatus

After missing five editions, Guyana will return to the prestigious Miss Universe competition as the new license holder was announced over the weekend. US-based talent acquisition leader and award-winning pageant director, Teri Brown-Walker, was officially revealed as the new national director for Miss Universe Guyana. Teri held leadership positions at various companies in the past 20 years and has accomplished awards for her involvement with several pageant systems including Miss Earth USA and Miss United States. "My heart is filled with so much gratitude. I am pleased to announce my first season as the National Director for Miss Universe Guyana. Being a part of this organization is a dream come true," she wrote on social media. Andrea King, representing Demerara-Mahaica, was crowned Miss World Guyana 2022 on Sunday, August 21 at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown. The 25-year-old project manager holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management and is currently employed at Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GTT). Miss Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Arian Richmond, and Miss Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice, Trevlind Harry, were the first and second runners-up, respectively. Miss World Guyana 2019 Joylyn Conway, who placed in the Top 40 at the 70th Miss World, reliquished her reign at the end of the event. No competition was held in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 10 finalists took part in this year's grand coronation night. Miss World Guyana 2022 grand coronation night will take place this Sunday, August 21 at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown. Reigning Miss World Guyana, Joylyn Conway, will crown her successor at the end of the event. The next titleholder will represent her country at the 71st Miss World pageant.
