Nada Koussa was crowned Miss Lebanon 2024 in a national competition held on Saturday, July 27 at the Royal Tulip Achrafieh in Beirut. The 26-year-old from Rahbe, Akkar bested 14 other contestants to win the title. She is now expected to represent Lebanon at Miss Universe 2024 and Miss World 2025. Sarah Leena Bou Jaoude was named first runner-up while Gael Balian, Melissa Kozah, and Sibelle Bou Chaaya were the second, third, and fourth runners-up, respectively. Maria Bathish, Thouraya Assaf, and Nour Salem rounded out the Top 8 finalists. Lebanon's first and only Miss Universe winner from 1971,  Georgina Rizk, was among the distinguished panel of judges. Last year's winner Yamina Zaytoun crowned her successor at the end of the event. After competing in Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador, she went to India for the 71st Miss World and won first runner-up. Maya Aboul Hosn, a radio and television personality from Btekhnay, is set to represent Lebanon at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November. The 25-year-old host at LBCI Lebanon was named first runner-up during the Miss Lebanon 2022 final held in Beirut in July last year. In a post on social media, she wrote, "Embarking on an incredible journey to represent Lebanon in the Miss Universe competition." "With love and pride for my hometown, let's shine on the global stage," she added. The new Miss Universe Lebanon succeeds last year's winner Yasmina Zaytoun who will soon travel to India to participate in Miss World 2023 in December. Lebanon won the Miss Universe pageant once with Georgina Rizk in 1971. Its last placement was in 1973 with Marcèlle Herro's Top 12 finish. A 20-year-old journalism student from Kfarchouba, Yasmina Zaytoun, won Miss Lebanon 2022 in Beirut on Sunday, July 24. Seventeen contestants participated in the national competition which was held after a 4-year hiatus. Maya Reaidy who won in 2018 and went on to compete during the 67th Miss Universe edition in Bangkok, crowned her successor at the end of the event. The runners-up were Maya Aboul Hosn (first runner-up), Jacintha Rached (second runner-up), Lara Hraoui (third runner-up), and Dalal Hoballah (fourth runner-up). Former Miss USA Rima Fakih, who is now the national director of Miss Universe Lebanon, announced that the winner will be sent to the next edition of Miss Universe and Miss World. If the dates of both international pageants coincide, the winner will solely represent Lebanon in the next Miss World, while the first runner-up will be sent to Miss Universe 2022.
