Savannah Gankiewicz officially crowned Miss USA 2023 in Hawaii

Hawaii's Savannah Gankiewicz has officially received her sash and crown as the new Miss USA 2023. Her coronation ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 15 at 'Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach in Honolulu with the presence of Governor Josh Green. The Miss USA organization recently announced the Maui native as the new titleholder following the resignation of Noelia Voigt to prioritize her mental health. Savannah, who was first runner-up at last year's competition, decided to take over the remaining months of Noelia's reign and is expected to pass her crown at Miss USA 2024 in California this August. Her successor will represent the United States of America at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant to be held in Mexico later this year. The Miss USA organization has just announced Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii as the new Miss USA following the resignation of Noelia Voigt. According to the official announcement, Savannah will be crowned in her home state of Hawaii in a special coronation ceremony next Wednesday, May 15. The new Miss USA was crowned  Miss Hawaii USA in January last year and went on to participate in Miss USA 2023 in Reno, Nevada last September. She finished as first runner-up. Savannah is of Filipino, Vietnamese, and Polish descent born and raised in Kihei on the island of Maui. She is a model, entrepreneur, and self-love advocate. "My decision to accept the Miss USA crown was not one that was made lightly. I stand with Noelia and admire her strength to step down and prioritize her mental health," she wrote in an official statement. The CW Television Network will broadcast Miss USA 2023 on September 29 at 8 p.m. EST from the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada.
