Marie Danči has recently been appointed Miss Universe Czech Republic 2024 by the Česká Miss Essens organization. The 27-year-old model from Krnov will represent the Czech Republic at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. No stranger to pageantry, Marie placed second runner-up at the Česká Miss 2022 competition and participated in Miss Global 2023 in Cambodia. Aside from modeling, the new Miss Universe Czech Republic is also active in film and theater. Marie succeeds last year's titleholder Vanesa Švédová. Vanesa Švédová was crowned Česká Miss Essens 2022 (Miss Universe Czech Republic 2023) in a glittering final on Sunday, December 11 at the O2 Universum in Prague. The 19-year-old model from Přerov is now expected to represent the Czech Republic at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) pageant. "Oh my goodness, I still can’t believe y’all really chose me. Thank you all for the votes, for the SMS, to the jury, the audience, the girls, the production for the great care and organization, to everyone who helped me in any way to achieve this," she shared online after winning her title. Rounding out the Top 3 winners were Miss Global Czech Republic 2023 Marie Danči, 25, from Krnov, and Miss Earth Czech Republic 2023 Kristýna Pavlovičová, 20, from Strakonice. They will respectively compete in the Miss Global 2023 and Miss Earth 2023 editions in Vietnam. Česká Miss pageant has been revolutionized from an ordinary beauty pageant into a reality TV show with the premiere episode of "Hledá se Miss" already aired on Saturday, October 15 on Prima Show . A total of eight episodes will highlight the casting rounds, challenges, and the journey of aspirants leading up to the final. Miss Universe Czech Republic 2020 Klara Vavruskova will be wearing a national costume inspired by the Czech folklore in the upcoming 69th Miss Universe pageant in Hollywood, Florida. Designed by Yvona Leitner, the modern costume features pleated sleeves that are typical to Czech national dress and a beautiful halo headpiece with handmade flowers created by Anna Skarda of Carbickova Crowns, whose clients include Khloé Kardashian and Beyoncé. The Modrotisk (blueprint), a Czech traditional folk fabric dyeing technology inscribed on the UNESCO representative list in 2018, was used for the costume at a workroom in Straznice, a small village with colorful history in Southern Moravia.
