Rachel Silvera was crowned Miss Universe Jamaican 2024 during the national final held on Sunday, July 28 at AC Hotel Kingston. The 25-year-old pharmacy student from St. Mary will now prepare to represent Jamaica at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico this November. Sara-Jade Kow and Keri-Ann Greenwood were the first and second runners-up, respectively while Sandra Swaby and Celine Diedrick rounded out the Top 5 finalists. Jordanne Lauren Levy was crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2023 in a national competition held on Sunday, August 20 at AC Hotel in Kingston. The 27-year-old medical doctor from the capital city succeeds last year's winner Toshami Calvin and will now prepare to represent Jamaica at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. Following an elimination round held last June 10 at AC Hotel in Kingston, the 30 contestants vying for Miss Universe Jamaica 2023 were officially unveiled. The selection committee members who selected the finalists consisted of Mark McDermoth, Karl Williams (Co-National Directors of the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization), Gario Graham, Emma Subratie, and the reigning queen Toshami Calvin. An official sashing ceremony and presentation will take place at the same venue next Sunday, June 25. The preliminary show will be held on August 23 while the coronation of the next Miss Universe Jamaica will be on August 26. Daena Soares bested nine other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Jamaica 2021 in a gleaming national competition held last October 31 at the Hotel Riu Montego Bay in St. James. The 22-year-old beauty who hails from Jamaica's breadbasket parish, St. Elizabeth, holds a bachelor's degree in basic medical sciences from the University of the West Indies. She succeeds last year's winner, Miqueal-Symone Williams. Trishanie Weller and Lauren Less were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. The new Miss Universe Jamaica was also awarded Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality.
