Miss Universe Latvia 2024 is Maria Vicinska

Maria Vicinska bested 14 other finalists to be crowned Miss Universe Latvia 2024 on Thursday, August 29 at the Digital Art House in Riga. The 26-year-old model will now prepare to represent Latvia at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico this November. Anastasija Aleksejevska and Zinaida Tesliuk were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. "I have so many emotions. Yesterday was a day I will never forget. Coming from a small town, I used to think it was just a dream and it would never come true but here I am, making it a reality," shared the new Miss Universe Latvia. "A small town girl with big dreams. That's a reminder for everyone to never give up regardless of what others say and to keep moving forward because in the end you will always succeed if you put work into it," she added. Kate Alexeeva has been announced to represent Latvia at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador this November. The international model, influencer, and entrepreneur from Riga who recently walked the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival will for the second time, have her chance at representing her country on the prestigious platform. In October last year, she was crowned Miss Universe Latvia and was supposed to participate in the Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans last January but withdrew after she tested for COVID-19 before departure. Hailing from Riga, Kate founded her own beauty and personal care brand Glambox. She is no stranger to pageantry, having joined the Top Model of the World and Miss Grand International competitions in the past. Miss Universe Latvia 2022 Kate Alexeeva will unfortunately not be able to compete at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA on January 14. The 28-year-old Latvian model, businesswoman, and influencer took to social media to share she tested positive for COVID-19 shortly before the New Year and is currently still recovering from complications. "I am forced to revoke my participation in Miss Universe this year. I still can’t believe I’m saying this. This decision is made because my health and the health of other contestants and their families is a priority," she said. Miss Universe Latvia national director Inga Raduga commented: "I know how upset you are, but it's life. I hope so much that you will shine and all will see your beauty on Miss Universe 2023." Kate Alexeeva (Jekaterina Aleksejeva) has been officially announced as Miss Universe Latvia 2022 on Wednesday, October 12. She was crowned by Miss Universe Latvia national director Inga Raduga. The 27-year-old international model and influencer from Riga bested four other finalists to win the national title. She will now prepare to represent Latvia at the 71st Miss Universe pageant in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA this January. "I couldn’t be more grateful to the juries, to my family, friends and supporters, photographers, designers and literally every single person who put their trust in me, contributes, inspires me and makes this journey possible. It’s all just the beginning and I promise not to let you down," she wrote in a statement on social media. Rounding out the Top 5 finalists were first runner-up Anastasija Aleksejevska, second runner-up Viktorija Samule, third runner-up Anastasija Reshetova, and fourth runner-up Liene Leitane. Out of 10 shortlisted contestants for Miss Universe Latvia 2022, only five have been announced to move on to the next round of the competition. Inga Raduga Model Management, organizers of the pageant, officially revealed the names of the remaining finalists on the new Miss Universe Latvia Instagram page. The winner of the competition is expected to represent Latvia at the 71st Miss Universe in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, this January which also marks the return of the country to the international pageant after 16 years. Latvia returns to Miss Universe after 16 years

Latvia is set to return to the Miss Universe stage this January in New Orleans, Louisiana after missing the pageant for a decade and a half. The European country which is situated on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia last joined the international pageant in 2006 after its debut in 2005 with the then 19-year-old Ieva Kokoreviča who managed to place in the Top 10. Inga Raduga Model Management now holds the license for Miss Universe Latvia and a national final is expected to take place soon. A total of 10 contestants have been announced as shortlisted to participate in the upcoming competition.
