Miss Universe Malaysia 2024 Sandra Lim's national costume for Miss Universe 2024 was officially unveiled on Wednesday, October 23 at the MYEG Tower Auditorium in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Designed by renowned Malaysian designer Ezuwan Ismail, the national costume was inspired by the story of Princess Walinong Sari, a legendary figure from Pahang folklore known for her beauty and combat skills, symbolizing courage, grace, and woman empowerment. "Princess Walinong Sari symbolizes resilience and beauty, and I hope to bring those qualities to the Miss Universe stage, proudly representing the strength of Malaysian women while showcasing Malaysia's diverse heritage," she said. The 23-year-old versatile actress, model, and host from Selangor beat 15 other finalists to win the national title. She also bagged the Miss Grace of J & KEL'L and Miss Best Dressed awards. Eleen Yong, MUMO's new national director, announced the changes at a press conference at MYEG Tower on Thursday, launching the official call for entry for Miss Universe Malaysia 2024. The upper age limit has been abolished, and women who are married, divorced, and mothers are now accepted into the competition. These changes are a significant departure from past rules, which only allowed single, unmarried women aged 28 or under to participate. Serena Lee, a 24-year-old law student, was officially proclaimed Miss Universe Malaysia 2023 and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador this November.  An official announcement was posted on Sunday, August 27 via the Instagram account of Miss Universe Malaysia with a photo of the new queen wearing her crown and sash. New Miss Universe Malaysia launched, first Miss Universe private jet revealed

Newly formed Miss Universe Malaysia was launched in a press conference held on Friday, February 17 at the Astor Ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event officially introduced Indonesian singer Poppy Capella of Just Capella as the new license holder. She is also the owner of Jakarta-based PT Capella Swastika Karya which recently acquired Miss Universe Indonesia. Also announced joining her team is appointed CEO Dato' Westin Chew, a Malaysian businessman and hands-on chief executive officer who has over a decade of experience in various fields. Cheam Wei Yeng (Lesley) was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 on Friday, October 7 at the M Resort & Hotel in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. The 26-year-old pharmaceutical and health science graduate is an assistant manager and a multilingual host and talent from Selangor. She succeeds Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 Francisca Luhong James. Ajunee Simreet Kaur Khangura and Tee Wan Ying were named the first and second runners-up, respectively. Rounding out the Top 8 finalists were Annatasha Shanty Jeremiah (Asha), Joann Tiong Hau Ping (Joann), Catherine Lai Hui Yi (Kate), Kaverrna Nair Sukumaran (Kaverrna), and Wong Siu Jane (Siu Jane). After last year's national competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MUMO national director Datin Elaine Daly said they are back bigger, better and stronger this year.
