Miss Saint Paul's Bay, Beatrice Njoya, bested over 20 other contestants to win Miss Universe Malta 2024 on Thursday, July 11 at the Hilton Malta in St Julian's. The 39-year-old proud mother of three, originally from Cameroon, will represent Malta at the 73rd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2024) in Mexico this November. Beatrice succeeds last year's winner from St. Julian's, Ella Portelli. She made history as the first black African-born, mother, and oldest woman to be crowned Miss Universe Malta. The Miss Universe Malta 2024 final gala will be held on Thursday, July 11 at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre in St. Julian's. The 24-year-old interior designer bested 24 other competitors to win the national title. She will now represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador later this year. The Maltese lira was the official currency of Malta from 1972 until 2008 when it was officially replaced by the euro. The 21-year-old legal assistant from St. Julian's was second runner-up during last year's Miss Universe Malta competition.
